In short
JobSteward uses only technically necessary cookies. We do not use analytics, marketing or advertising cookies, and we do not embed any services that recognise you across websites.
That is why we do not need a consent banner: under § 25 Abs. 2 Nr. 2 TDDDG (German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act), consent is not required where the storage of, or access to, information is strictly necessary for us to provide a service you have expressly requested.
On our public pages (job-steward.com) no sign-in cookies are set at all. The cookies of our sign-in service are only created once you sign in or open the application.

Payment process (provider: Paddle)
If you take out a paid subscription, the payment process of our reseller Paddle.com Market Limited opens. In doing so, Paddle sets its own cookies, which are necessary for carrying out the payment and for fraud prevention. These cookies are created exclusively when you start the payment process yourself — they are not set when you merely visit our pages or when you use the free plan.
Paddle is an independent controller for this processing and does not publish a complete list of the cookies set during the payment process. We are therefore unable to name them individually here. Paddle's own information is authoritative: https://www.paddle.com/legal/privacy

Cloudflare does not use these cookies for advertising purposes and does not use them to track users across different websites.
Usage measurement without cookies
We measure the use of our pages with Umami, which we run ourselves on our own server in the European Union.
Umami sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device and reads no device characteristics – in particular not your screen resolution or window size. It only processes information that your browser transmits with every request anyway: the page requested, the referring page, browser and operating system type, and the country derived from the IP address. We do not store the IP address itself.
Because there is no access to your device, § 25 TDDDG does not apply. The legal basis for the processing is Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. f DSGVO (GDPR); for details see our Privacy policy.
Your browser's local storage
The application stores individual interface settings – such as your choice between a light and a dark appearance and the language of the interface – in your browser's local storage. This information does not leave your device and is not transmitted to us. It is strictly necessary in order to keep the display you have chosen.
Deleting cookies
You can delete cookies at any time in your browser settings, or restrict their storage in general. If you delete the sign-in cookies you will be signed out and will have to sign in again. If you block cookies entirely, signing in to JobSteward is technically impossible.
